Words in Motion “Spoken Sessions” by Chris Baker

Once a month, customers arrive at Huckleberry’s to find tables pushed against the wall and chairs rearranged in neat rows facing a single microphone perched expectantly on its stand. Confused, curious, and rather intrigued, they begin to notice peculiar characters scattered around the park outside the restaurant, mumbling to themselves or clustered in small groups listening intently to each other as they take turns performing some sort of recital. The words “Spoken Sessions” are written decoratively on a small chalkboard outside the restaurant entrance where a bright-eyed young woman stands calling the peculiar characters inside – it’s time to begin!

Salomi Prinsloo Artist And Art Educator

Salomi Prinsloo is an artist working and living in Pretoria South Africa who regards art as living and living according to her, necessitates and awakens art making. It is her firm belief that art heals or has the potential to bring about some form of healing. This concept that art heals, beautifies and enriches lives has kept her productive for more than 35 years.She regularly explores this wonder world in her painting process which she calls her secret garden, a place of spirituality and retreat.  The creative process is her way of celebrating the beauty of being alive and it allows her an opportunity to be energized by natural and artistic beauty. For her, the act of painting is a form of artistic breathing, because she takes and she gives.
